Preparing For Disaster

Since disasters are inevitable, we as humans have little or no control over disasters. An emergency can hurt you less or more depending on how it finds you. What if there was a way to avoid great losses? Unfortunately there isn't an automatic way to recover or control the damage caused by a disaster. Nonetheless, being prepared for the disaster can help you reduce the amount of damage. How do you prepare for something that you don’t know? Well, here’s is how you do it.
Shelter - In many cases, when there is a disaster in an area, getting a place to shelter your family can make the difference between life and death.

Evacuating safely - Being prepared for disasters also requires you to have an evacuation plan

Recovering from the disaster - Water is a basic need and therefore when you are recovering from a disaster, you need drinking water as well as cooking water. Watch news or listen to radio news from your temporary sheltering area and wait for authorities to deem a place safe before going back to your house.

Once you return back to your home, if damages are extensive  be sure to immediately contact a restoration professional.
